A very special hiking experience in Vipiteno and environs is the Seven-Lake tour in Ridanna/Ridnaun, a side valley of Vipiteno/Sterzing. The tour starts at the mining museum, taking you across the Lazzacher valley to the Poschhouse and further up to Lake Massaro/Egetsee. Walk past the anterior and posterior of Lake Massaro/Egetsee until you reach Lake Trübe See, the largest of the seven lakes. Continue along the Fernerbach river until you reach the Grohmannhütte, Aglsbodenalm (trail no. 9) and the starting point. This hiking tour in Vipiteno/Sterzing takes approximately eight hours.

Rafting: thrilling water adventures
Another summer activity besides hiking is rafting. Vipiteno is also known for the Tiger Rafting Club founded in 1995 and one of the leading rafting association in Italy. The perfectly trained Tiger boat guides are known in many countries across the world. All guides have followed an extensive training in Italy and Austria and freshen up their knowhow once a year, making for the highest level of safety. The rafting tours take place in Valle Isarco/Eisacktal, Val Pusteria/Pustertal, Val Passiria/Passeiertal and Val Venosta/Vinschgau.
